Some of the lessons I learned as a small child celebrating Thanksgiving in the USA is that there is always room at the table for one more. There is always another chair we can fetch from somewhere in the house. When we share with thankful hearts, there is always enough to go around.
What I learned by celebrating Thanksgiving in the UK is that God’s gifts of life, love, and community reach beyond boundaries in ways we can’t imagine. Giving thanks breaks down barriers – barriers we place between us and God, barriers we place between one another. Thanks be to God!
Happy Thanksgiving Day to my family and friends from America and around the world. I am so thankful to God for all of you.
